Microneedle radiofrequency treatment schedule: how many times, how often and how long do the results last?

Microneedle radiofrequency treatment schedule

One of the most common questions we hear during consultations at MM Clinic in Wrocław is the hopeful one: “Will one treatment be enough to rejuvenate my face?”. We would like to answer “yes”, but the honest answer is: one treatment is an excellent “energy boost” for the skin, but a real, lasting transformation requires a strategic plan.

Microneedle RF performed with our D-Frax device is a technology that works over the long term. It is not a “magic wand” that changes your facial features within an hour, as fillers do. It is advanced tissue engineering that makes your body do hard repair work on its own.

Exactly how many treatments do you need, why are the intervals so important and when will you see that longed-for “wow effect”? We have prepared a detailed schedule for you.

Why a series and not a one-off? (The gym effect)

To understand why we insist on a course of treatments, it helps to use a simple analogy with training at the gym. Imagine going to a very intense workout. The next day you feel your muscles and see slight tension and improved blood flow. But will you build a lasting, athletic figure after one visit? No. That takes repetition and time for recovery.

The D-Frax device works in exactly the same way. Each treatment is a strong, controlled stimulus for the fibroblasts in your skin: “Wake up and produce new collagen!”.

  • Treatment 1: Only initiates the repair processes and gives the tissue a positive “shock”.
  • Treatment 2: Strengthens the structure of the newly forming “scaffolding” of the skin.
  • Treatments 3 and 4: This is the point at which the dermis becomes genuinely denser, which translates into a visible, lasting lifting effect.

If you stop the therapy after the first session, you give up the cumulative build-up of these effects.

How many treatments are needed? (Your individual plan)

At MM Clinic we follow the principle that every skin has a different history. We do not use one template for everyone, but medical statistics allow us to identify three main treatment scenarios. See which one suits you.

1. Anti-ageing prevention and the “glow effect” (age 30+)

This is a plan for people who do not yet have deep folds but can see that their skin is losing its radiance, becoming thinner (“papery”) and showing the first signs of gravity.

  • Recommended number: 2-3 treatments.
  • What to expect? The skin regains density, becomes “plumper” to the touch and the pores become smaller. The face looks rested, as if after a long holiday.

2. Lifting and wrinkle reduction (age 40-50+)

Here we are dealing with established changes: a sagging jawline (“jowls”), marionette lines and marked laxity of the neck. The skin needs deeper and stronger stimulation.

  • Recommended number: 3-4 treatments.
  • What to expect? The aim is to thicken the dermis, which results in a mechanical lifting of the jawline and softening of the folds. It is a lift without a scalpel.

3. Acne scars and stretch marks (special tasks)

This is the most difficult, but also the most rewarding area of work. Scars are hard, fibrotic tissue that we have to “break up” and force to remodel from scratch.

  • Recommended number: 4-6 treatments (sometimes more for very deep changes).
  • What to expect? Evening out of the skin structure (“pushing out” the depressions) and softening of the scars by 60-80%.

How often should the treatment be repeated? (Why do you have to wait?)

The golden rule with D-Frax technology is: we see you every 4-6 weeks.

Many patients ask us: “Can I come every 2 weeks to get results faster?”. We strongly advise against it. Your skin needs time to regenerate. The process of synthesising new collagen (neocollagenesis) is complex biological machinery that does not happen overnight.

Performing the treatment too often, on tissue that has not fully healed, will not speed up the results and may lead to chronic inflammation and “fatigue” of the material. In this case patience is your ally – let the skin work at its natural pace.

Expert tip: If you feel that your skin needs support between treatments, hydration is the ideal “bridging” solution. Roughly halfway through the cycle (2-3 weeks after RF) it is worth having classic needle mesotherapy. Well-hydrated skin responds much better to thermal energy during the next RF session, which enhances the effects of the whole therapy.

When are the results visible? (Timeline)

The key to being satisfied with the treatment is knowing how the process unfolds over time. Do not judge the results in the mirror after 3 days – that is too early!

  • Days 0-7 (healing phase): The skin may be red and then peel slightly. If you see improved firmness, this is often still due to mild swelling after the treatment.
  • Weeks 3-4 (first changes): This is when you start to see a real difference. The skin becomes smoother, foundation spreads more easily and the face looks firmer.
  • Month 3 (after the series): This is the culminating point. The new collagen has matured and arranged itself into a dense network. Wrinkles are softened, scars are less visible and the facial contour regains definition.

How long do the results last?

This is the greatest advantage of microneedle radiofrequency over botulinum toxin or hyaluronic acid, which are metabolised and disappear. The effects of a full course of RF last from 12 to 24 months.

Why so long? Because we have not injected anything into you that can “dissolve”. We have made your body turn back the biological age of your skin. The collagen produced stays with you. From that point on you simply age more slowly, starting from a “higher level”.

To maintain this condition for years, you do not need to repeat the whole series every year. One maintenance treatment every 12 months is enough to keep collagen production running at high speed.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

How often should microneedle radiofrequency be done? The standard and safest interval is 4-6 weeks. This is the time needed for full tissue regeneration and the production of collagen fibres. Shortening the intervals is not recommended and does not improve the results.

How long does microneedle radiofrequency last? The effects of a course of treatments are long-lasting and last on average 12-24 months. This depends on age, lifestyle and home skincare. We recommend one “maintenance” treatment once a year to keep the remodelling effects going.

Is one treatment enough? A single treatment will give a visible refreshing, firming effect and improve skin tone (it is ideal, for example, a month before an important event). However, lasting structural remodelling of the skin, scar reduction or a clear lifting effect require the cumulative stimuli of a series of at least 3 treatments.

Is microneedle radiofrequency worth it? Definitely yes. It is one of the few treatments on the market that genuinely thickens the skin and turns back the biological clock, rather than just masking the signs of ageing. At MM Clinic we work with a certified, safe D-Frax device, which guarantees predictable results.
